As a part of Insurance Awareness program, Kolkata insurance institute is conducting an Essay Writing Competition among the members of the institute. Details are given below: (Rules & Regulations)

The competition is open to the members of the Kolkata Insurance institute

Essay will be accepted from Individual Members only. Joint contribution will not be accepted.

The Contribution should be original; should not be previously published or presented elsewhere and free from plagiarism.

TOPICS

1. Insuretech is the ultimate solution for the desired Insurance Penetration in India.

PRIZES

1st Prize in two categories: –

 

a) For serving members in Insurance industries

b) Non Serving members in Insurance Industries (Student/Retired/Surveyors/Broker/Agent)

 

Essay should not exceed 10,000 words & minimum 3,000 words. The contribution should be submitted in word format (.docfile) with the following settings : –

1) Font Size – 12

2) Space between lines – 1.5

3) Space before Paragraph – 6 pt.

4) From name – “Times new Roman”

 

Please do not mention identifiable details in main Essay in word format. You give your details – Name/Residential/Office Address/Mobile No. /E mail ID/Registration ID/Candidate ID in a covering letter separately.

The essay must be sent through e-mail on [email protected]. And should reach not later than 20th December, 2022. The result of the essay writing competition will be announced by 20th January, 2023.

NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Notice is hereby given that the 75th Annual General Meeting of the Institute will be held at the Learning Centre of the Institute at the Ground Floor of Royal Insurance Building, 5, N.S. Road, Kolkata – 700 001 on Thurs day, the 19th August, 2020 at 06.00 p.m. to transact the following business : –

  1. To confirm the minutes of the last Annual General Meeting held on 4th June, 2020.
  2. To adopt the Report of the Committee and the Audited Accounts and Balance Sheet for the year ended 31st March, 2020.
  3. To appoint Auditors for 2020-2021.
  4. To transact any other business that may be brought forward by the Chairman or of which due notice hasbeen given.
  5. 5. To elect the Committee for the year 2020-2021.

Election to the Committee for the session 2020-2021

Members willing to serve the Committee for the session 2020-2021, if elected, are requested to send their nomination form between 10th August, 2020 and 17th August, 2020 to the undersigned or to Sri Dinesh Kumar Mehrotra, Joint Secretary at the Institute’s office between 06.00 p.m. and 07.15 p.m.

A candidate who has offered for election is free to withdraw up to 01.30 p.m. on 18th August, 2020. Thereafter if the nominations exceeds the number of seats for the Committee ( 11 numbers ), ballot papers will be prepared with the remaining names and distributed among the members present at the Annual General Meeting for recording their votes. The votes will be counted and the result of the selection will be announced at the Annual General Meeting.
If election becomes necessary for administrative convenience, polling will start from 02.30 p.m. and will continue till 06.00 p.m. on 19th August, 2020 at the Institute’s Office.

Members are requested to carefully note that the rights of voting or being either a candidate seeking election for the session 2020-2021 or a proposer or seconder of nominations as such shall be restricted to those whose names will be in the member’ list as on 31.03.2020. The Voters List will be prepared with the names of the members who are Members of ourInstitute as on 31/03/2020.

However, it has also been decided by the Committee that no member shall be eligible to propose or second any nomination of participate in the election as a candidate, if his/her name does not appear in the above Voters’/Member’slist.
